Profile scope

This profile produces a compact, understandable report about rights declarations, digital source type, Valeria publication metadata, and provenance validation. It is used to render metadata in Valeria Galleries such as Visual Studies and is the default profile in the Valeria Asset Inspector.

Profile semantics

Controlled vocabulary identifiers remain present as URIs in the report. Presentation software may render a recognized URI with its human-readable label. For example, http://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/trainedAlgorithmicMedia is presented by Valeria as “Created using Generative AI”.

Declared content warning

An IPTC Content Warning term for nudity in the signed CAWG metadata produces jpt:profile_label: Nude. An absent term produces an empty label; this does not establish that the content is suitable for every audience. The label reflects a declaration and is separate from provenance validation and profile compliance.

Profile compliance

When jpt:profile_compliance returns true, all metadata required by this version of the profile could be retrieved and the standardized status indicators report a valid claim signature and data binding, with no assertion-reference failure. Image title, description and content warning are optional; a missing report value is null when no title was specified.

Required information

  • gallery and collection;
  • creator and creator organization;
  • copyright notice, licence and rights holder;
  • digital source type;
  • Valeria curation level.

Trust Indicator sources

The profile uses Trust Indicators from the embedded C2PA Manifest. It uses standardized indicators from c2pa.actions.v2, stds.schema-org.CreativeWork, cawg.metadata, jpt.rights and C2PA validation results. The gallery.valeria.vmc assertion supplies JSON-LD serialized Valeria-specific fields and current mapping gaps.

Standardized

C2PA actions, Schema.org CreativeWork, CAWG metadata, JPEG Trust rights declarations and C2PA validation results.

Valeria-specific

Compiled publication metadata for fields without a selected standardized mapping.

Report structure

The compact section is intended for the primary Valeria interface. The extended section preserves supporting asset, rights and validation detail. Stable statement IDs and typed values form the interface; human-readable report text supports generic rendering.
